In November we awarded grants to a selection of local community groups/projects through our Community Development Fund:
Chinese New Year Celebrations
We have provided funding to support this year’s Chinese New Year Celebrations in Liverpool City Centre; the multi-cultural event which attracts over 23,000 visitors to Chinatown and nearby areas. The celebrations include a visual street parade with dragon and lion dancing, martial art demonstrations, a street market and fun fair.
Tea House Reminiscence
We have provided a grant to help this innovative project, aimed to enhance the wellbeing and engagement of local people through cultural social activities, with a specific focus on those who have been diagnosed with dementia or are at risk of developing dementia.
Pagoda Community Centre
We are providing funding to support the centre’s provision of translation services to the local community; helping elderly Chinese individuals with benefits advice, help with their bills, medical advice, and also providing English lessons.
We are donating to the nursery’s project to develop their outdoor play area. This nursery is a non-profit organisation providing low cost childcare for the local community, with bilingual staff speaking languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, Polish and English.
This fund is available to support small scale community projects that will enhance the quality of life for Pine Court customers and make a real difference to the neighbourhoods where our residents live.
