We celebrated our heritage in style with a Chinese New Year celebration at the Pagoda Arts Centre in Liverpool City Centre on 1st February 2017.
Customers were invited to celebrate the year of the rooster with a Chinese buffet and a variety of traditional Chinese entertainment.
The rooster is said to be the epitome of fidelity and punctuality. For ancestors who had no alarm clocks, the crowing was significant, as it could awaken people to get up and start to work.
Guests, including several Pine Court board members and staff from across The Sovini Group, watched performances from the Chinese culture centre’s musicians and dancers, as well as Chinese Dragon Dancing and martial arts performances from Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu Friendship Association.
The event also gives our customers the opportunity to ‘have their say’ on the services we provide, including addressing any neighborhood issues and how customers can get involved with Pine Court.
David Brown, Director of Operations at Pine Court, said: “This event is now in its fifth year and our customers all thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations. It’s great to get together to celebrate our heritage, to strengthen the links we have with the local community and gain feedback from our customers as to how we can improve our services.”
