The elders in our community welcomed the Chinese Consul General to Pine Court this week on his first official visit to Liverpool. The Consul General was greeted at Chung Hok House and introduced himself to residents before taking a look around their home.
Liverpool is home to the oldest Chinese community in Europe and Pine Court provides around 450 homes in Liverpool and Wirral that cater to the needs of the community, with multiple bi-lingual staff. The Consul General seemed very pleased saying: “Thank you for looking after our people and our community.”
The Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Malcolm Kennedy attended a reception lunch that followed the welcome at Chung Hok House and stated: “Liverpool holds the world in one city, the Chinese community are a very important part of that one city and I thank you.”
