Celebrating Chinese New Year safely!

Happy Year of the Ox! Virtual events will be taking place 12th – 14th February so you can celebrate Chinese New year safely at home.

We’ve highlighted a few of our favourite events below, but you can view the full schedule of events on the Culture Liverpool website here.

Dance of the Golden Snake
14 February 1pm
FREE – Pagoda Arts Centre will be bringing you music and dance online, performed by their members.

The Black-E
14 February 12pm – 6pm
FREE – To celebrate the Year of The Ox, The Black-E will be hosting an online event filled with videos of the fantastic performers who usually grace the stage during the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Chinese Zodiac Storytelling
13 & 14 February at 4pm
FREE – Join the Everyman & Playhouse Theatres to listen to a story about the Chinese Zodiac and discover what animal you are. Sit back and enjoy!

Family Dance Workshop
13 February 10:30am
FREE – Award-winning world dance company Movema invite you to celebrate Chinese New Year by learning some new dance moves to welcome the Year of Ox.

Make Chinese New Year Decorations
13 February 11am
FREE – Join the Everyman & Playhouse Theatres in making decorations and find out how they celebrate Chinese New Year. All you need are scissors, paper or card (red), pens (black or gold) and you are good to go!

Chinese Fan Dance
13 February 3pm
FREE – Join the Everyman & Playhouse Theatres in learning steps and movements to dance a Chinese Fan Dance. All you need are 2 long silk scarves or ribbons and you are good to go!
